The diverse cultures of indigenous American peoples are rich with narratives of peace, beauty, triumph, and struggle. Learn more about the spiritual ideas and rituals that were part of some of those narratives. Our speaker, a member of the Oneida Nation of the Thames, will share her understandings and perspectives about health and health care, race, environmental health, economic disparities, and the historical experiences of Native Americans in Michigan and in the Great Lakes region.

Eva Menefee maintains a deeply rooted connection to the land and to her Iroquois culture and traditions. Ms. Menefee is lead faculty advisor and president of the Michigan Association for Higher Education at Lansing Community College.
